Who is Councilman Ronnie Harvey, Jr.?
Ronnie Harvey, Jr. is serving his first term as City Councilman for District A. He was elected in a special election, on March 26, 2022, after the untimely passing of Past District Councilwoman, Ms. Mary Morris. His goal is to uplift the citizens of his district by providing each of them access to adequate education and resources required to make his District a better place for each citizen to live, learn, work, play and ultimately retire.

Mr. Harvey is a life-long resident of his beloved district. He is a product of the community that he seeks to serve and to inspire everyone that he encounters. Mr. Harvey currently is the 2022 Louisiana High School Principal of the Year and the very proud alumni and Principal of "THE" Washington Marion Magnet High School. He is a family man, who is married to his high school sweetheart and fellow educator, Shavela Payte Harvey; and the proud father of twins, Paytleigh Dare and Ronnie III.
